Kindergarten Thanksgiving Dinner!

This week the kindergarteners learned about tradition.

Thanksgiving in North America is a mix of European and Native traditions. Festivals were held to give thanks for a good harvest and to celebrate the safe voyage of the Europeans.

It is a tradition in this country to have a feast on Thanksgiving.

In Mr. Kreutinger's art class the kindergarteners made a FAKEsgiving Feast!
Here is how we did it!

First we glued the plate down then designed the silverware.

Then we started to add our favorite Thanksgiving foods!
A slice of turkey, carrots, string beans, corn, and more!!!
Here are the finished meals!

First Grade - Autumn Still Life!!!

The first grade classes learned about STILL LIFE!
We created autumn still life art!

First they traced a stencil for the pumpkin and Indian corn. Then cut them out.

Next they glued them to the canvas with a little tissue paper as the husk of the corn. And they created value on the pumpkin by making highlights with oil pastel and some shading!

Then they dipped the back of a paint brush in paint to make the kernels on the Indian corn.

Here is the finished Autumn Still Life art!
