4th Grade - Anatomy

The 4th grade learned about the skeletal system! While learning about bones they made this awesome art!
Check it out!

First they glued the moon to the center of the paper.

Then we started drawing bones with white oil pastels. But to keep things interesting whenever they had to draw over the moon they used black because it has better CONTRAST!

Then the rest of the body.

Last they added their own details. Here are the finished skeletons!!!

2nd Grade - Stellaluna

This week the second grade made artwork that is inspired by the book Stellaluna by Janell Cannon.

The students learned about bats, symmetry, and the story of Stellaluna.

First the students glued the moons on the top corner of the page and painted branches.

Then they drew one half of a bat on a folded strip of paper.

Next they cut it out, opened the bat up and glued it onto the page.

Now for some details!!!

Some stars too!

3rd Grade - Pumpkin Patch Perspective!!!

The 3rd grade made some AWESOME artwork this week!
The learned about shading, value and perspective!

First they glued a blue strip to the top of their paper then cut out orange circles for pumpkins.

Then they glued them to the paper placing the bigger shapes in the foreground and the smaller ones in the background.

Then added some texture, shading, and cast shadows to make is look more realistic.

Next, by only using a touch of white paint we gave the pumpkins a little shine.

Lastly we used the back of our paint brush to make stars in the sky.

 Here are the finished pieces!
