Emoji Pumpkins!

Students learned about the visual language of emoji icons!

Emoji icons are a way to show your feelings through a language based on visual symbols that could be used by people of all backgrounds, ages, and levels of ability.

The students at St. Mark made their own Emoji Pumpkins!

Check them out!

We did this project with all grade levels. However, the 4th grade also wrote short stories in their art journals using emoji icons.

Here are a few!

4th Grade - Art Journals

At St. Mark School all students in 4th grade keep an Art Journal. Each week the students have a written assignment related to the project or topic we are studying. This allows the students to continue their art education outside of the art room!

The art journal is about expression, emotions and thoughts, both written and visual.

Check out these first journal entries!
