First Grade - Cat Silhouette

For this project the vocabulary word for the day was "Silhouette".

Silhouette - the dark shape and outline of someone or something visible against a lighter background

We decided to make this piece into a night-time Landscape with the silhouette of a cat drawn in the moon.

Here is how we did it!

First step is to glue the moon in place.

Then the students made a clear horizon at the bottom of the page by drawing grass.

Then the students followed a step by step directed drawing demonstration on how to draw a cat.

Finally, the students had an opportunity to create their own details. Here are some of the finished pieces!!!
