Jasper Johns
Jasper Johns is an American Contemporary artist. His uses iconic imagery in his work. In his work above called "0 through 9" he stenciled the numbers right on top of each other.
The 3rd grade made artwork that was inspired
by Pop artist Jasper Johns.
This is what we came up with!
First the students quickly covered their board with paint. They had the choice to use either warm colors or cool colors.
Then the 3rd graders used stencils of letters using the opposite color scheme of paint to fill them in.
Then to give the painting a little more of a Jasper Johns look, the students moved around some of the paint on the canvas by scraping the paint using a small piece of cardboard.
